24 March 2025: H.E. Mr. Reuven Azar, Ambassador of Israel to India, called on the Hon’ble Minister of Agriculture and Livestock.

During the meeting, they discussed opportunities to strengthen collaboration between Bhutan and Israel in the agricultural sector, with a focus on:

1. Farm Mechanization – Enhancing efficiency and productivity through advanced technologies.

2. Establishment of a Centre of Excellence for Agriculture – Facilitating knowledge exchange and innovation.

3. Adoption of the Kibbutz Model – Exploring Israel’s cooperative farming system for collective agricultural development.

4. Irrigation Technologies – Implementing modern irrigation solutions to optimize water usage.

5. Public-Private Partnerships (PPP) – Encouraging collaboration between Bhutanese State-Owned Enterprises (SoEs), private sector stakeholders, and Israeli companies and government agencies to drive agricultural advancements.

The discussions reaffirmed the commitment of both nations to fostering a mutually beneficial partnership in agricultural development.
