Dasho Penjore, the Governor of the Royal Monetary Authority has assumed the role of Interim Government Advisor to the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock. The ministry presented an overview of the ministryβs mandates, organizational structure, as well as the draft 13th Five Year Plan and Long-term Plan.
The Interim Advisor expressed his deep-rooted interest and commitment to work with the ministry in enhancing the livelihoods of farming communities and bolstering the nation’s food security. Sector’s access to finance, promoting financial literacy, addressing the challenges of climate change, and exploring options for crops and livestock insurance, among others were highlighted as some of the critical areas Dasho wish to work on. The Interim Advisor also directed the ministry to carefully review the manifestos of political parties and integrate innovative and pertinent commitments into the sector’s 13th Five-Year Plan and the Long-term Plan.
