18 April 2024: Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo stopped at Yadi and visited the Nyemey LUC farm at Ngatshang Gewog. Due to the lack of clarity and challenges due to COVID, the young group who initially started farming gave up; however, Ngatshang Gup, with the support of Dzongkhag, Agriculture, and Livestock, including ARDC Whengkhar, has established a second group to revive the farm, which has been in operation for six months.
Gup and the coordinator initiated clear farm operation modalities, including plans. Since LUC is a noble indication of His Majesty’s willingness to support the youth, and having invested heavily and known the issues, challenges, and experiences of the first group, Gup is very confident in the second group. The coordinator submitted a few needs of the farm to Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo.
Lyonpo thanked the Gup for the clear history of LUC and appreciated the initiative to carry forward. Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo also informed the importance accorded to youths and assured to support the request made by the Coordinator.
