4th February 2025: As part of the official visit to Bhutan, the Director-General of FAO and his delegation called on the Hon’ble Minister, MoAL. The call on was attended by the Secretary, Head of Departments of the Ministry, and officials from the FAO Country Office. The Hon’ble Minister extended a warm welcome to the delegation to the Ministry. Hon’ble Minister acknowledged the support provided by the FAO for agricultural development and the impact it has created on the lives of the Bhutanese people.
Building on the success of BATIF 2024, the Ministry solicited FAO’s continued support for the successful organization of the next BATIF, scheduled for 2026, an event planned to be held biennially. With both MoAL’s 13th FYP priorities and FAO’s Country Programming Framework 2024-2028 aligning with common priorities, the parties acknowledged the opportunities for strengthened collaborations in the areas of common interests.
