A group of delegation from Nepal met with the honorable minister of agriculture and livestock and it’s officials.

June 11, 2024: A delegation of government officials from Nepal, representing federal and provincial ministries and universities, visited Bhutan with the facilitation of ICIMOD and support from GIZ.

The delegation engaged with Bhutan’s Minister and senior officials of Agriculture and Livestock to exchange updates on agriculture status and explore opportunities for collaboration

Key areas of discussion during the meeting included organic agriculture, climate change, and other relevant topics. Both sides agreed to gradually pursue collaborations, recognizing the potential benefits of sharing expertise and practices. Bhutan’s expertise in organic farming, particularly in challenging mountainous regions, was highlighted as a valuable resource for insights into climate-resilient agricultural practices.

Overall, the visit symbolizes a significant opportunity for mutual learning and partnership between the governments of Bhutan and Nepal in the agricultural sector.
