The Department of Agricultural Marketing & Cooperatives (DAMC) is organizing its Annual Economic Development and Marketing Officers’ (EDMOs) Conference in Thimphu from June 5th to 7th, 2024. This event brings together key officials from the Head Office, Regional offices, National Post Harvest Centre (NPHC), and all district EDMOs for a collaborative exchange.
The conference has several key objectives. First, it aims to capitalize on the success of the Bhutan Agri-food Trade and Investment Forum (BATIF). Participants will discuss the forum’s achievements, strategize its future as a biennial event, and explore ways to maximize its impact on agri-food trade and investment.
Secondly, the conference seeks to address internal challenges within the Department. Discussions will focus on fostering better communication and collaboration among officials, particularly new recruits. By addressing communication gaps, the conference will pave the way for a more cohesive work environment.
Lastly, the conference will ensure all departmental officials are aligned with the upcoming 13th Five Year Plan. Through a thorough review of the plan’s goals and projects, all officials will be able to adapt their work plans to contribute effectively towards the shared goals. Additionally, the conference will facilitate discussions on ongoing projects, promoting collaboration and avoiding duplication of efforts. This will ensure a more streamlined and efficient approach to achieving the Department’s goals.
