27 April, Thimphu: The Ambassador of the European Union and the Ambassadors of the EU member countries called on His Excellency the Minister for Agriculture and Livestock today as part of their annual visit to Bhutan. His Excellency expressed the Ministry and the Royal Government of Bhutan’s gratitude to the European Union for their unhindered budgetary support and technical assistance provided to the country’s agricultural sector.
His Excellency also highlighted some of the key areas of potential future collaboration between the Royal Government of Bhutan and the European Union in the field of high-value agricultural products, shifting from subsistence farming to commercialization, global agricultural exports, tech-driven agricultural sector and promoting climate resilient agricultural practices. The European Union has been one of the major development partners of the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock since 1982.
