6 October, Zhemgang: Gomphu Water Project under Trong gewog was handed over to the Dzongkhag Administration of Zhemgang yesterday. The ceremony was graced by the Hon’ble Sanam Lyonpo, Yeshey Penjor among other representatives from the De-suung office, RBA, RBP, MoWHS and local government.
The project completed with a budget of Nu.2.5 M will benefit about 84 households and 800 people by supplying them safe and reliable drinking water. One water reservoir of 6000 litres capacity, transmission length of 4.2 km pipe line and 31 household water tap stands was constructed under the project.
Around 46 officials including 43 DeSuups were deployed for completing the project that started in May 2021.
The project was initiated under the De-suung National Service Water Projects to help the community in providing safe and reliable drinking water as well as impart new skills and practical knowledge in water management infrastructure to De-suups. This is the 15th project completed under the water flagship project. There are 4 more water projects underway across the country.
Meanwhile, Sanam Lyonpo is on tour to Zhemgang, Trongsa and Bumthang from 5-17 October. During the visit, Lyonpo will grace the ground breaking ceremony for Tangsibji-Kela Road, launch Chamdephu Bailey Bridge and visit WOW farm in Bumthang among others.
