24 March 2025: His Excellency the Minister expressed his deepest gratitude for Ambassador’s leadership in making His Majesty’s State Visit to Mongolia a grand success and historic one. The Hon’ble Minister also mentioned that the signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the Government of Mongolia and the Royal Government of Bhutan on “Technical collaboration in the field of highland animal husbandry and rangeland development” was the most historic moment which marked as the cornerstone of longstanding bilateral relationship between Bhutan and Mongolia. His Excellency the Ambassador and the Hon’ble Minister discussed on how to take forward the MoU and fast-track its implementation.
Discussions were held on how to ensure the effective and proactive implementation of the MoU, including drawing up a plan of action in collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and External Trade. Further, the meeting also discussed on some of the opportunities for capacity-building programs on animal genetic resources, as well as the possibility of providing undergraduate scholarships in agricultural studies in Mongolia. They also agreed on tentative dates for the capacity-building programs on animal genetic resources. The meeting was lively and encouraging, providing a promising outlook for the agrifood sector, particularly in enhancing highland livestock communities and advancing the livestock sector of the country.
