The CFM is undergoing a major renovation and the parking area in the CFM which was used for bulk sale and purchase of agricultural produce is being utilized for keeping construction materials. The parking space between Ka Ja Throm and CFM is currently serving the purpose for sale and purchase. Some middle men have also been carrying out retail trade from their vehicles, causing severe traffic congestion and affecting retail trade in the allocated market space.
To address this issue, the department in collaboration with Thimphu Thromde, being the nodal agency to facilitate the market for farmers and also to decongest the traffic within the vicinity respectively, has allocated an interim space at Babesa for the conduct of Agricultural wholesale transactions. The new location was operational from 24 October 2022 and henceforth, wholesale trade should take place in this designated place. Buying-selling will not be permitted in the parking space between Ka Ja Throm and CFM premises with immediate effect. However, should any proponent want to sell agricultural produces from CFM or Ka Ja Throm, CFM Manager can be contacted at 17876335 for necessary arrangements.
