Workshop on Nature-based solutions for water and green mountain livelihoods in Bhutan

18 May, Paro: The Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock (MOAL), Royal Government of Bhutan and International Centre for Integrated Mountain Development (ICIMOD) organised a multistakeholder interaction and engagement to discuss on scaling nature-based solutions for water and green mountain livelihoods in Bhutan.

Hon’ble Secretary, Dasho Thinley Namgyel graced the event by joining virtually and conveyed his heartfelt congratulations to ICIMOD for rolling out a new project Himalayan Resilience Enabling Action Programme-called HI-REAP in Bhutan with focus on Nature based Solutions. Similarly, Mr. Jonathan Reeves from the Foreign Commonwealth and Development Office, Nepal participated online and presented on the Nature based solution in a global perspective.

The meeting brought together key stakeholders from the Ministry of Energy and Natural Resources, Bhutan for Life, Department of Environment and Climate Change, Royal Society for Protection of Nature, Menjong Sorig Pharmaceutical Company Limited, National Biodiversity Center, Bhutan Trust fund, Tarayana Foundation, community group representatives, ICIMOD and officials from the Ministry of Agriculture and Livestock.
