30 August-3 September, Wangdue: Fifty-eight youths (In two groups) are attending a capacity building programme at ARDC-Bajo to learn about developing a business proposal and become an entrepreneur.
During the five days programme, participants will learn about entrepreneurship basics, communication skills, business idea generation, marketing plan, production plan, financial plan, conflict management and writing a business proposal that is crucial to start any new business.
According to Yeshi Choden, one of the trainers, the training will encourage youths to take up entrepreneurship and create employment as youth employment is becoming a challenge in the country. She added that it will also help to reduce rural-urban migration.
A participant from Rukha shared that she is happy to avail such a rare training and is hopeful that many youths will be benefitted to make their business dream come true.
The training is being organised as a part of the Youth Employment and Rural Entrepreneurship (YERE) project funded by the Japan Social Development Fund through the World Bank. The three-year project aims to generate new productive employment for the poor and vulnerable youths in six project sites at Chhukha, Dagana, Haa, Samtse, Trongsa and Wangdue.
The project based at the Ministry’s Policy and Planning Division will train around 500 unemployed youths aged between 18-35, out of which the best 200 business proposals will be awarded a grant of Nu.350,000/- through the project fund.
Similar training is also underway at Gangtey, Phangyul and Daga gewogs under Wangdue. The YERE training has been completed in Haa, Trongsa and Chhukha while for Dagana, it will be held from 6-10 September.
